We recommend a progesterone test to identify where the bitch is in her heat cycle. Cost for these expenses, including boarding, and transportation, if any, are the breeders responsibility. Frozen and fresh chilled semen is available. The fee for frozen and chilled semen is $1100.00. Receipt of the $100.00 non-refundable deposit is required before the semen will be shipped. Shipping of the semen from the facility, to your vet will be the breeder’s responsibility. The shipping cost for frozen runs about $300.00. If you are interested in using frozen semen, the storage facility requires at least one week notice prior to shipping. It is important to let us know as soon as possible when she comes in season and to do a progesterone test early in the cycle. Artificial Insemination Using Frozen Semen There are two types of insemination using frozen semen. One is vaginal insemination, where the thawed semen is deposited into the vagina using a rigid pipette. The other is the surgical insemination resulting in a surgical intra-uterine implantation.
